Are there any global benchmarks for your solution?

At present, there is no universally recognized standard or guidance document that offers a definitive perspective on the current medical state of the art regarding digital symptom assessment tools. XUND actively participates in the Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence for Health, a global initiative jointly led by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Together with fellow startups in the industry, we are engaged in developing a standardized assessment framework for AI-driven health assistants.

Are there any legal aspects to consider when integrating your medical device?

As a medical device manufacturer, we follow strict rules to comply with regulations. When you integrate our Medical API into your ecosystem, you won't become a medical device manufacturer. You can leverage our Medical API certification to skip self-certification and audits. This distinction ensures legal compliance for your business while enjoying our technology's full potential.

Can I also send you an unsolicited application?

Even if there is no suitable role advertised for you at the moment, we are happy to receive your unsolicited application!

Can your product be customized?

Every use case is unique. That's why we developed our technology from scratch to best meet our partners’ individual needs. Whether you’re a blue-chip company, clinic, or start-up, our API-first approach is designed to be platform-agnostic, allowing seamless integration into any digital health platform.

For more insights into how we customize our solutions, please explore who we serve and our reference projects.

Do you allow home office?

We support the new working conditions that COVID-19, in particular, has brought us. That is why we also support the possibility of working from home.

Do you do clinical safety evaluations?

We continuously test our medical knowledge base and algorithms against cases reported in journals and training materials for doctors. We deem this the most reliable and scalable way to test the accuracy of the Medical API under verified, real-life circumstances. This is also the most commonly used approach to evaluate state-of-the-art devices by researchers and thus provides the best evidence base for a clinical evaluation of XUND with performance data.

Do you have a specific programme for start-ups?

Yes, we do! We believe in fostering growth for like-minded companies, so we provide a dedicated offering for start-ups and fast-growing small companies. This offer is really aimed at the young guns of the industry, so the main criteria we are looking at are the company's age, turnover, and customer base. Learn more about our Fast Track Program.

Do you have access to user data?

We only collect general data such as age group, gender, symptoms, and risk factors entered by the user for the duration of the check. This enables us to gain insights into the age and gender demographics of users and the most frequently reported symptoms and concerns. All data is anonymized, and we take measures to ensure that the anonymous data cannot be linked in a way that could potentially identify you. To find out more about data privacy and data security at XUND, you can read our privacy policy, or reach out to us at privacy@xund.ai.

Do you have strategic partners?

We actively pursue extensive collaborations where we provide our research technology and NLP models as essential components. These collaborations typically involve strategic partnerships with entities, such as insurers, or hospitals, who seek to utilize DISCO for structuring and analyzing their extensive datasets. It's worth noting that this offering falls outside our standard SaaS business model and is always established through a tailored agreement designed specifically for the partnership's objectives.

Do you offer a free trial?

You can try out our technology for up to 30 days in our developer environment to explore its full potential. If you are interested, get in touch and request access here.

Do you offer system support?

As a manufacturer of Software as a Medical Device, or SaMD, it's imperative for us to maintain up-to-date technology. In terms of technical aspects, continuous support for our SaaS products is inherently included. However, it's important to note that we do not provide any medical consulting or support for end customers, as it falls outside our scope.

Do you provide a ready-to-use solution?

If you want to get started right away, our Web App is the ideal option. It allows you to customize our white-label solution and easily integrate it into your digital ecosystem. If you're interested in seeing an example of how this can be implemented, take a look at our reference project with Doktor24.

Do you work together with medical doctors?

Yes, the medical team at XUND plays a pivotal role in managing the medical database, which forms the core of our AI solution. Our medical doctors verify the quality of every single piece of information in the medical database, ensuring its accuracy and reliability. This thorough verification process relies on reference literature and real-world medical practice experience. Learn more about the work of our medical team on our Medical Quality page, or read the interview with our Head of Medical.

How can I apply for a job?

We are always looking for new, motivated talent. You can find our open positions under "Career". But even if we don't have anything you are interested in advertised at the moment, we'd be happy to receive your unsolicited application.

How can I technically integrate the Patient Interaction Suite?

XUND stands out as the only Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) manufacturer in its category, offering platform-agnostic, API-first technology. Our Medical API supports integration with cross-platform mobile solutions and does not require native components. It can be implemented on the web, or in a native app (iOS & Android). For swift mobile integration, we offer three distinct SDKs. And in case you're seeking an immediate customizable solution, our Web App is ready to deploy. For more details on XUND's technology and access to the API documentation, please visit our Technology page.

How do you ensure the quality of the medical content?

Our in-house team of medical doctors and editors meticulously reviews and validates XUND's medical content before release, ensuring it meets ISO 13485 & MDR standards, and guaranteeing its highest quality. Additionally, the team collaborates with the Thieme Group to create fact sheets for frequently diagnosed conditions. On top of that, we continuously verify the medical accuracy of our technology through stress tests, drawing from thousands of literature case studies. For more details on our quality assurance process, please visit our Medical Quality page.

How do you ensure the quality of your products?

We meet numerous regulatory requirements and have received various certifications, amongst which is a class IIa certification under MDR. This approach enables us to offer a superior medical device that surpasses competitors in medical, regulatory, and technical aspects. For additional details regarding our adherence to industry best practices, please take a look at our Certifications page.

How do you protect sensitive health data?

Security and data protection are very important to us. First of all, all the data we are processing through the Medical API is anonymous by design. On top of that, we have also opted for local storage in Austria. This ensures that health data stored with us never leaves the European Union.

We are committed to achieving compliance with both GDPR and HIPAA regulations by controlling access to sensitive data and encrypting all personal information during storage and transmission. This way, we can guarantee the safe and secure usage of our technology.

How does your pricing model work?

We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to healthcare. The modular pricing we offer allows you to create a personalized version of XUND and only pay for what you really need. Learn more about our pricing tiers here.

How is XUND pronounced?

[ksʊnt] noun. English speakers can try ‘ksoond’.

Fun fact: XUND is the German word for healthy. Although, we opted for the non-official dialect spelling, widely used in Austria and southern Germany. The correct form would be ‘gesund’.

How many symptoms do you cover?

To maximize the flexibility of our Medical Engine and allow the algorithms to work efficiently, we have developed a comprehensive, multi-layered symptom database structured around symptom groups. For a better user experience, we aggregated the symptoms into more than 360 groups and distinguished more than 21,000 specific symptom variations using follow-up questions.

How much does it cost to participate in the fast track program?

The program consists of a flat monthly fee adjusted to the size and needs of your company. Send us your application with the relevant information, and we will send you a non-binding offer and further information. You can find the contact form on our Fast Track Program page.

In what languages are your products available?

Currently, we offer our products in English, German, Hungarian, French, Dutch, and Italian. If needed, we are able to provide a new language in cooperation with our partner Lengoo in up to 12 weeks.

Is all content created or reviewed by medical doctors?

Yes, XUND's content is a blend of quantitative AI analysis and qualitative medical expertise. Using AI, we have analyzed millions of medical publications, which were then reviewed by our medical doctors with both literature and practical experience. This synergy, combined with our standardized quality assurance, ensures the highest level of accuracy and reliability in our content. To gain more insight into our medical quality processes, please see our Medical Quality page.

Is it possible to try the Patient Interaction Suite for free?

You can request access for a 30-day trial period by applying here. This will give you enough time to make sure that our technology is well suited for your needs.

Is it still possible to invest?

Being a growth-oriented startup, fundraising is always a topic of high relevance. After the round is before the round, so we are always happy to get in touch with potential investors who are interested in joining us on our journey. What are the differences between ChatGPT and XUND’s Medical API?

There are significant differences between ChatGPT and a solution such as ours. XUND’s Medical API was created with the help of our proprietary NLP, which has been trained on a specific subset of medical literature and follows a set of traceable and understandable rules. Our in-house team of medical experts regularly conducts medical reviews and clinical trials to validate the data, ensuring the accuracy of the output. If you would like to know more about the differences between Generative Pre-trained Transformers and XUND’s technology, take a look at the comparison in our blog post about ChatGPT.

What are the requirements to qualify for the fast track program?

We usually provide our technology to major healthcare institutions. However, to really have an impact we also want to open up to the young guns in the industry. That is why the main criteria we are looking at are the company's age, turnover and customer base.

What diseases do you cover?

Our AI has the capability to automatically analyze millions of medical publications and process data on over 4,000 medical conditions. XUND prioritizes the most common medical conditions from this dataset, totaling over 500 illnesses, to provide statistically relevant and meaningful results.

What forms the basis for your point-of-care recommendations?

Patients can be further navigated in our partner's ecosystem depending on the result of the check and the recommended medical specialty. XUND offers a dedicated module, the ecosystem management module, to facilitate this process. Our infrastructure enables our partners to efficiently manage patient routing after the assessment. For instance, depending on the identified condition, the patient may be directed to a specific booking platform, a digital solution, an informational site, or a telemedicine provider.

What is the difference between an API and an SDK?

APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and SDKs (Software Development Kits) are two related but distinct concepts. An API is a set of rules and protocols that allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of other systems and services into their own applications, while SDKs provide the tools and libraries that make it easier for developers to build those applications. Check out our API documentation and SDKs to discover the optimal way to seamlessly integrate our technology into your ecosystem.
