Disclaimer: dog lovers preferred.

Are there any global benchmarks for your solution?

At present, there is no universally recognized standard or guidance document that offers a definitive perspective on the current medical state of the art regarding digital symptom assessment tools. We continuously verify the medical accuracy of our technology through stress tests, drawing from thousands of literature case studies. Together with fellow startups in the industry, we are engaged in developing a standardized assessment framework for AI-driven health assistants.

Are there any legal aspects to consider when integrating a medical device?

No. We built our products so that the API itself is the certified medical device. This means you can integrate and use them safely without becoming a medical device manufacturer or undergoing certification and audits yourself.

Can I also send you an unsolicited application?

Even if there is no suitable role advertised for you at the moment, we are happy to receive your unsolicited application!

Feel free to send it via hello@xund.ai

Do you allow home office?

Our work model is hybrid and pretty flexible. We love having people at the office, but we also support the possibility of working from home.

Do you do clinical safety evaluations?

We continuously test our medical knowledge base and algorithms against cases reported in journals and training materials for doctors. This ensures accuracy under verified, real-life circumstances and is the most commonly used approach for evaluating state-of-the-art medical devices. In addition, we are also gathering evidence through clinical studies to further strengthen the performance data and evidence base.

Do you have access to user data?

All the data we collect is de-identified, meaning that we take measures to ensure that the data cannot be linked in a way that could potentially identify you. To find out more about data privacy and data security at XUND, you can refer to our Medical API Privacy White Paper.

Do you have strategic partners?

We actively pursue extensive collaborations where we provide our research technology and NLP models as essential components. These collaborations typically involve strategic partnerships with entities, such as insurers or hospitals, that seek to utilize our technology for structuring and analyzing their extensive datasets. It's worth noting that this offering falls outside our standard SaaS business model and is always established through a tailored agreement designed specifically for the partnership's objectives.

Do you offer analytics on usage and outcomes?

Yes. We provide structured, real-time analytics on usage trends, for example, the number of API calls in a given period or the number of patients who completed the assessment.

This can be upgraded with the Data Insights add-on, which unlocks more detailed and granular analytics, such as identifying the most frequently reported symptoms, illnesses, or risk factors by demographic group, and understanding changes in user needs over time.

Do you offer system support?

As a manufacturer of Software as a Medical Device, or SaMD, it's imperative for us to maintain up-to-date technology. In terms of technical aspects, continuous support for our SaaS products is inherently included. End users can also reach out to us to report bugs. However, it's important to note that we do not provide any medical consulting for end customers.

Do you provide a ready-to-use solution?

If you want to get started right away, our Web App is the ideal option. It allows you to customize our white-label solution and easily integrate it into your digital ecosystem. If you're interested in seeing an example of how this can be implemented, take a look at our reference project with hkk Krankenkasse.

Do you work together with medical doctors?

Yes, the medical team at XUND plays a pivotal role in managing the medical database, which forms the core of our AI-supported solution. Our medical doctors verify the quality of every single piece of information in the medical database, ensuring its accuracy and reliability. This thorough verification process relies on reference literature and real-world medical practice experience. Learn more about the work of our medical team on our Medical Quality page, or read the interview with our Head of Medical.

How can the solution be integrated?

Clinical Search can be integrated into your ecosystem via our API.

How do you ensure the quality of the medical content?

Our in-house team of medical doctors and editors meticulously reviews and validates XUND's medical content before release, ensuring it meets ISO 13485 & MDR standards, and guaranteeing its highest quality. Additionally, the team collaborates with the Thieme Group to create fact sheets for frequently diagnosed conditions as part of Symptom Check and Illness Check. On top of that, we continuously verify the medical accuracy of our technology through stress tests, drawing from thousands of literature case studies. For more details on our quality assurance process, please visit our Medical Quality page.

How do you ensure the quality of your products?

We meet numerous regulatory requirements and have received various certifications, amongst which is a class IIa certification under MDR for Symptom Check and Illness Check. This approach enables us to offer a superior medical device that surpasses competitors in medical, regulatory, and technical aspects. For additional details regarding our adherence to industry best practices, please take a look at our Certifications page.

How do you protect sensitive health data?

Security and data protection are very important to us. First of all, all the data we are processing is de-identified by design. On top of that, we have also opted for local storage in Germany. This ensures that health data stored with us never leaves the European Union.

We are committed to achieving compliance with both GDPR and HIPAA regulations by controlling access to sensitive data and encrypting all personal information during storage and transmission. This way, we can guarantee the safe and secure usage of our technology.

How is XUND pronounced?

[ksʊnt] noun. English speakers can try ‘ksoond’.

Fun fact: XUND is the German word for healthy. Although, we opted for the non-official dialect spelling, widely used in Austria and southern Germany. The correct form would be ‘gesund’.

How many symptoms do you cover?

To maximize the flexibility of our Medical Engine and allow the algorithms to work efficiently, we have developed a comprehensive, multi-layered symptom database for Symptom Check, structured around symptom groups. For a better user experience, we aggregated the symptoms into more than 360 groups and distinguished more than 21,000 specific symptom variations using follow-up questions.

In what languages are Symptom Check and Illness Check available?

Currently, we offer our Symptom Check and Illness Check in English, German, Hungarian, French, Italian, and Portuguese. If needed, we can provide a new language in 8-12 weeks.

Is all content created or reviewed by medical doctors?

Yes, XUND's content for Symptom Check and Illness Check is a blend of quantitative AI analysis and qualitative medical expertise. Using AI, we have analyzed millions of medical publications, which were then reviewed by our medical doctors with both literature and practical experience. This synergy, combined with our standardized quality assurance, ensures the highest level of accuracy and reliability in our content. To gain more insight into our medical quality processes, please see our Medical Quality page.

Is Clinical Search a certified medical device?

We are currently working on getting the product certified as a medical device.
